How to book more B2B meetings, market by market

Practical playbooks for in-house sales teams calling businesses in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, plus nine city guides. Each one covers calling etiquette, time zones and call windows, holidays, the rules for calls and email, data, gatekeepers and the numbers to aim for.

    Quick answer

How do you book more B2B meetings? Call verified direct numbers in the prospect's local time, concentrate your dials in 10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm, and keep going to at least the fourth attempt, because 58% of meetings in Nousu's data from 218,000+ Australian dials come on the fourth attempt or later. Then adapt the opener, the follow-up and the calendar to each market, which is what these guides cover.

Choose where you are calling from and where you are calling into. The helper shows the target city's 10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm windows in your local time, with daylight saving applied for the date you pick. It runs in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.

New Zealand starts daylight saving on the last Sunday in September, a week before New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT, so for that week Auckland is 3 hours ahead of Sydney.

    What works in every market

Nousu's published figures from 218,000+ dials into Australian businesses. The New Zealand and Singapore guides use them as a starting baseline.

    See the full statistics
    22%

Connect rate from 10am to 11am, local time

    19%

Connect rate from 2pm to 3pm, local time

    68%

Of qualified meetings come from those two windows

    58%

Of meetings are booked on the fourth attempt or later

Across those dials, 14% reached a live person, 6% became a conversation with a decision maker and 22% of those conversations booked a meeting: 1.3 meetings per 100 dials, against 0.3 for offshore teams. Wednesday is the most productive day, Monday morning is slow and Friday afternoon is effectively dead.

Four habits travel to every market: call in the prospect's local time, put most dials into the two peak windows, keep going past the second attempt, and open with who you are, where you are from and why you are calling. What changes is the tone, the calendar, the rules for email and texts, and the data. That is what each guide covers. To see where your own funnel is leaking, use the meetings per dial calculator.

It uses your browser's time zone data, so it applies the correct offset for the date you choose, including the weeks when New Zealand, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT change their clocks and Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Singapore do not.

Start from 10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm New Zealand time. From Sydney, that is 8am to 9am and 12pm to 1pm for most of the year, and an hour earlier in the last week of September.

Singapore's 10am to 11am window is 12pm to 1pm in Sydney from April to October and 1pm to 2pm during Australian daylight saving. Singapore shares Perth's clock all year.
