    Quick answer

What is an outbound calling programme? An outbound calling programme is a fixed-scope phone project with a defined list, a defined outcome per record and an end date, for example recruiting businesses into a research survey or logging email consent from GPs. It is priced per completed outcome rather than a monthly retainer, and finishes with a clean data handover.

    Who calling programmes are for

Programmes suit teams that need a large, one-off or recurring calling job done accurately, not a sales team that needs meetings every month.

    • University and business school research teams recruiting Australian businesses into surveys, interviews and panels
    • Market research agencies that need an Australian telephone fieldwork partner for B2B recruitment
    • Pharma commercial, omnichannel and HCP data teams that need GP or specialist consent captured, or practitioner data verified Calling GPs and healthcare professionals
    • Healthcare data companies keeping practitioner and practice records current
    • Large enterprises with a one-off, high-volume calling job: a data clean-up, an event, or a reactivation push

Need a steady flow of sales meetings instead? That is our outsourced SDR service, for ongoing meeting booking, on a monthly retainer starting at $7,000 a month that typically books about 8 qualified meetings a month, within a range of 6 to 20.

    Programme types

    Survey and research recruitment

We call businesses to explain the study, check eligibility against your screener and recruit the right respondent into your survey, interview or panel, including monthly and longitudinal studies.

    Outcome recorded

Recruited, ineligible, declined or callback booked

    HCP and GP consent collection

We call practices, work with reception properly, reach the GP or specialist and record whether they give express consent to receive your emails, using wording your compliance team approves.

    Outcome recorded

Consent given, declined or callback booked, with wording, date, time and caller

    Calling GPs and healthcare professionals

    Contact data verification and cleansing

We confirm the person is still there, their role, direct line and email, and flag records that have moved, retired or closed, so your database is current before you use it.

    Outcome recorded

Verified, updated, moved, left or closed

    Lead generation and list building

    Event and webinar registration

We invite the right people by phone, register them, and run reminder calls before the date so registrations turn into attendance.

    Outcome recorded

    Registered, declined or send details

    Event marketing

    Customer reactivation and win-back

We call lapsed customers and dormant accounts, find out why they stopped, and record whether they want to come back. Warm responses go to your team the same day.

    What happens

    Scoping

We agree the list source, volume, target roles, the exact definition of a completed outcome, eligibility rules and your deadline. You get scenario quotes by volume before you commit.

Compliance: the rules every programme runs to

Large programmes put more calls through the rules than any sales campaign, so the rules are built into the script and the schedule from day one.

Permitted calling hours, recipient's local time
    DayTelemarketing callsResearch calls
    Weekdays9am to 8pm9am to 8.30pm
    Saturday9am to 5pm9am to 5pm
    SundayNo calls9am to 5pm
    National public holidaysNo callsNo calls
    • Telecommunications (Telemarketing and Research Calls) Industry Standard 2017. These hours apply to every telemarketing and research call, whether or not the number is on the Do Not Call Register. A call outside them is only made when a specific call time was expressly agreed in advance.
    • Identification. At the start of each call, callers give their name, Nousu's name and the purpose of the call, and on telemarketing calls the name of the organisation the programme is for. On research calls that name can be given when asked or before the call ends.
    • Caller ID is always on, the number shown takes return calls for at least 30 days, and calls end immediately when the person asks.
    • Research or telemarketing? A call is only treated as a research call when its purpose is opinion polling or standard questionnaire-based research. If it has any commercial purpose, even a secondary one, it is a telemarketing call. Consent and data verification calls are run as telemarketing calls.
    • Do Not Call Register Act 2006. Business numbers cannot be registered on the Do Not Call Register. Where a list holds numbers that could be private, such as mobiles, it is washed against the Register within 30 days before calling.
    • Spam Act 2003. Emails need the recipient's consent, and you cannot send an email to ask for it. Express consent can be given over the phone, so we record who gave it, when and how, because the sender must be able to prove consent.
    • Privacy Act 1988. Work contact details are personal information. Callers give the collection notice your team approves at the start of the call, and we collect only the fields you specify.

This summarises our operating rules, not legal advice. Your compliance, legal or ethics team signs off every script before calling starts. Regulatory summary checked October 2026. Read our guide to Australian calling laws

    How calling programmes are priced

Programmes are quoted per project and priced per completed outcome, for example per GP reached with a consent outcome recorded, or per eligible business recruited into your survey. There is no monthly retainer.

Outcome rates depend on your list, your audience and your eligibility rules, so we give scenario quotes by volume: you see the cost at different programme sizes before you commit, and the pilot batch tests the assumptions before the full run. What counts as a completed outcome is agreed in writing at scoping.

    Book a 30-minute call

It is a fixed-scope phone project with a defined list, a defined outcome per record and an end date, such as recruiting businesses into a survey, logging GP email consent or verifying a database. It is priced per completed outcome and finishes with a full data handover, unlike an ongoing sales retainer.

Typically 3 to 4 weeks from sign-off. That covers script and compliance approval, recruiting and training a dedicated calling team, and a pilot batch. If your approved wording and a clean list are ready on day one, the programme sits at the faster end of that range.

Per completed outcome, quoted per project, for example per GP reached with a consent outcome recorded. There is no monthly retainer. We give scenario quotes by volume so you can see the cost at different programme sizes, and the pilot batch tests the assumptions before the full run.

Business numbers cannot be registered, so most business lists are unaffected. Pure opinion polling and standard questionnaire-based research calls are exempt from the Register. Any call with a commercial purpose is a telemarketing call, so lists holding mobiles or other possibly private numbers are washed within 30 days before calling.

Telemarketing calls run 9am to 8pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, with no calls on Sundays or national public holidays. Research calls can run 9am to 8.30pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm on weekends. Times are the recipient's local time, under the Industry Standard 2017.

Yes. ACMA lists a phone call as one way to give express consent under the Spam Act, and you cannot send an email to ask for consent because that email is itself a marketing message. We read your approved wording and record who consented, when, how and which caller took it.

With patience built into the plan. Callers work with reception rather than around it, book callbacks at the times practices suggest, and accept longer holds when a doctor is finishing a consult. Attempts per record are agreed at scoping, so effort goes where an outcome is likely.

No. Every programme is run by in-house Australian callers working from 5 Martin Place, Sydney. We recruit and train a dedicated calling team for each programme, and no part of the calling is offshored or subcontracted to another provider.

We call a first batch of records to test the script, the list and the outcome rate before scaling. You get the results, the patterns we heard and any proposed wording changes, and nothing changes in the script until your team approves it. Then the full run starts.

Every record with one final outcome, a timestamp and the caller, plus corrected contact details and consent evidence where consent was collected. Data arrives in your file format or loaded into your CRM, using a field map agreed at scoping, so it can be used straight away.

Yes, as a separate service. For ongoing meeting booking we run outsourced SDR on a monthly retainer starting at $7,000 a month, typically booking about 8 qualified meetings a month within a range of 6 to 20. Calling programmes are for fixed-scope projects priced per outcome.
