B2B telemarketing services in New Zealand
Outsourced B2B telemarketing into Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and regional New Zealand. Senior callers who work in-house in Sydney, starting early in our day to match NZ business hours, booking qualified meetings with NZ decision makers. Not consumer telemarketing.
Who runs B2B telemarketing into New Zealand?
Nousu runs outsourced B2B telemarketing into New Zealand with senior callers who all work in-house in Sydney. We have no callers in New Zealand. NZ is usually 2 hours ahead of Sydney, so our NZ call blocks start early in our day, and we book qualified meetings with NZ decision makers straight into your calendar, starting at $7,000 a month (ex GST).
This page covers telemarketing, the term many procurement teams and larger companies use. The method is the same as our B2B cold calling in New Zealand, and our New Zealand location hub explains how one team covers Australia and New Zealand together.
What does the New Zealand B2B market look like?
Auckland holds the largest concentration of NZ commercial decision makers, across technology and SaaS, financial services, professional services and the headquarters of many national businesses. Wellington is the government and public sector centre, with the consultancies and technology firms that work around it. Christchurch anchors the South Island, with agritech, engineering and manufacturing, and regional New Zealand carries much of the agribusiness and logistics base.
The market is smaller than Australia's and the business community is closer. A meeting with an Auckland headquarters can be a national opportunity, and a careless campaign gets noticed quickly, so we build an NZ specific list rather than adding New Zealand to the end of an Australian one.
How do New Zealand buyers respond to a B2B call?
In our experience NZ buyers are direct and relationship led. They respond to a caller who is relevant, well prepared and honest about who they are, and they push back quickly on hard selling. We are upfront that our team is in Sydney, because that honesty tends to build credibility rather than lose it.
We also keep volumes measured. In a market where buyers talk to each other, a smaller list worked carefully protects your brand for the next time you call those accounts.
When do we call New Zealand businesses?
New Zealand is 2 hours ahead of Sydney for most of the year, because both countries move their clocks by an hour for daylight saving. The exception is the week from the last Sunday in September, when New Zealand starts daylight saving a week before New South Wales and is 3 hours ahead. Clocks in both countries go back on the first Sunday in April.
So 9am in Auckland is 7am in Sydney for most of the year, and 6am during that one week. Our NZ call blocks start early in our day and run through the NZ morning and early afternoon, and every meeting invitation is set in NZ time. We avoid NZ public holidays such as Waitangi Day, Matariki and Labour Day, and regional anniversary days such as Auckland Anniversary Day.
Is B2B telemarketing legal in New Zealand?
Yes, B2B telemarketing is generally permitted in New Zealand, but several laws shape how it is done. The Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 covers commercial email, text, fax and instant messages, not voice telemarketing, and New Zealand has no government Do Not Call register like Australia's. The Privacy Act 2020 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 still apply to every call.
We keep a managed suppression list across campaigns, honour opt out requests immediately and log every contact in your CRM. For the equivalent Australian rules, see cold calling laws in Australia. This is general information, not legal advice.
| Law or service | What it covers | What it means for B2B telemarketing |
|---|---|---|
| Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 | Commercial email, text, fax and instant messages. It does not cover voice telemarketing | Follow-up emails and texts need consent, accurate sender details and a working unsubscribe |
| Privacy Act 2020 | Personal information, including a named contact's direct details | Collect contact details for a clear purpose and keep them accurate and secure. Since 1 May 2026, take reasonable steps to tell people when their details came from another source, unless an exception applies |
| Fair Trading Act 1986 | Conduct in trade, including dealings between businesses | No misleading claims on the call about what you sell or why you are calling |
| Marketing Association Do Not Call service | An industry service for consumers' home and mobile numbers. It does not extend to businesses | Business lines are outside it, and we still honour every request not to be called again |
How does Nousu run telemarketing for New Zealand clients?
First calls happen 2 weeks from sign-off. In those 2 weeks we agree the NZ ideal customer profile, agree with you how the list will be sourced, build or clean it, write a call framework that uses NZ context and agree what a qualified meeting means for your team. The NZ calling schedule, including the daylight saving weeks, is set up front.
A named senior caller then works your accounts on NZ time. Meetings go straight into your calendar with a handover brief, every contact and outcome is logged in your CRM, and weekly call reviews cover outcomes, call notes and the changes for the next week. Once a campaign is running, about 8 qualified meetings a month is typical, with a range of 6 to 20. Many NZ campaigns run alongside an Australian campaign for the same client; our new market expansion page explains how that works.

Who is New Zealand telemarketing a good fit for?
It suits NZ based B2B companies, and Australian companies selling across the Tasman, with a clear ideal customer profile and a sales team that can take meetings in NZ hours. Technology and SaaS, fintech, agritech, professional services and supply chain technology are strong fits. It is not the right fit for consumer calling. If you are still choosing a service, telemarketing vs telesales vs appointment setting sets out the differences.
